Canadian-born Derek Michael is a graphic designer and programmer by trade. But growing up, he used to watch his father restore campers in their family's backyard. A few years ago, he borrowed one of the trailers to promote an iPad case he'd invented, and before long, he became addicted to the feeling of freedom the trailer provided. If he felt this way, he thought, maybe other people would, too. In that moment, Happier Camper was born. Now with sales locations in Los Angeles and Detroit, Happier Camper looks like it has an adventurous future ahead.
