En el último episodio de la semana pasada del programa Last Week Tonight de HBO con John Oliver, el comediante y su equipo hicieron un análisis profundo del mundo de las adquisiciones corporativas y sus efectos nocivos para nosotros como consumidores y emprendedores.

Uno de los grandes ejemplos que Oliver da es el de Oakley, una firma que intentó competir con el gigante de gafas Luxottica, el padre corporativo de marcas como Prada, Versace y Chanel y tiendas como LensCrafters y Sunglass Hut (básicamente un monopolio en Estados Unidos). Para resumir, Oakley sufrió mucho y fue finalmente adquirida por Luxottica.
