India Needs to Welcome 5G on Time Says Intel's India Chief Intel's maker lab initiative has incubated 15 startups so far, out of which 9 are already in the market.

India needs to stay ahead or at least at par on getting the latest technology on board. Speaking on the onset of IoT revolution, Nivruti Rai, General Manager, Intel India. Vice President, Platform Engineering Group, Intel Corp, emphasised the need to stay ahead at the Bengaluru ITBiz on Tuesday.

"The buzz of IoT needs to happen on time.. India needs to stay ahead or at least stay at par with the rest of the world," she said. Rai said that IoT enables smart manufacturing, transportation and greater efficiency in all domains.

The need for tomorrow is that every device in your home is connected, she said, adding that innovation is the key driver for growth.

Rai said that India needs to welcome 5G on time and that before Japan Olympics India needs to have used case scenarios of this technology at home.

Rai, a 25 year old tech veteran, said that she does not like the term "third world country" associated with India and wants the country needs to stay on par with other global powers.
