This Former Apple Employee Finally Fulfilled a Lifelong Dream and Created an Organic Betty Crocker Sarah Jones saw an opening on the market and executed on her vision to create Miss Jones Baking Co. Now her products are sold in 5,000 U.S. stores.

Even as a child, Sarah Jones dreamed of making a living off baked goods.

"If I sold 300 cupcakes a day at $3 a piece, could I ever make enough money to have a nice living?" she says was a question she asked herself when she was young.

But that dream would have to wait. Her career has mostly been focused in finance, working at Apple and Brit + Co. But all these stints were in preparation to start her own business.

"Every job I took I felt was a conscious step to starting my own business one day," she says.

In 2011, she saw her opening. While the rest of the supermarket was progressively getting healthier, with more natural and organic ingredients, this trend didn't land on the baking aisle. That was the first inkling of the idea behind Miss Jones Baking Co., which makes organic boxed cake and cookie mixes and frostings, along with a new product: a microwavable cake in a cup.

To hear how Jones executed on her vision and grew a business that now sells products in 5,000 U.S. stores, watch the video above.
