Late last year, the State Department sent me on the mission of my life: Go to the Middle East, such a hotbed of turmoil right now, and try to promote the benefits of entrepreneurship. It fit in with my life goal of spreading the benefits of a collaborative, supportive community that drives innovation, similar to what I started at AlleyNYC.

I had no idea what to expect. Entrepreneurship as a diplomatic tactic? Still, why not?

As I told my partners at Entrepreneur Media what I was doing, we began collaborating on an idea that would document this mission to the world. We decided to film the trip, which was bananas.

It is the first of what I hope to be many stories where the innovation, collaboration and forward-thinking nature of entrepreneurship can help change communities and lives.
