In this video, Entrepreneur Network partner Jeff Rose talks about one of his favorite ways to jump-start his day: journaling. By journaling for a short slice of time every day, Rose explains, his mind is more level and prepared for what's ahead.

The journal sets a precedent to inject a daily dose of gratitude and positive affirmation that can create a space for positivity.

Rose shares this technique with his children, as well, enjoying the activity of seeing what they are grateful for -- including the pleasure of waking up and getting to school, or playing basketball with their dad.

On the other end, for busy adults, five minutes of journaling can be a great way to make time for yourself during a hectic day and appreciate what most matters.
