2 Tips for Getting More People to Read Your Blog Posts Here's a hint: It's all about social media.

Content marketing, and blogging in particular, requires valuable time. You brainstorm, write and edit. If you spend your time writing something, you're going to want a return on your investment. You want as many people reading your post as possible.

Online marketing expert Neil Patel is a blogger as well. He writes for KISSmetrics and Entrepreneur.com, among other sites. When it comes to getting more eyeballs on the articles you write, he suggests two things:

1. Share them on your most active social-media channels
2. Reach out to people who share similar types of content on social media and share it with them (with the hope that they'll share it with their followings)

"Just because you write an amazing piece of content doesn't mean anyone's going to read it," Patel says. "You still gotta go out there and spend time telling other people to share it and read it."
