Here's What Happens When You Open a $3,000 Bottle of Scotch Littlemill released only 250 bottles of this uber-exclusive whisky and Entrepreneur was lucky enough to crack open one.

By Dan Bova

When life gives some people lemons, they make lemonade.

When the folks at Littlemill Distillery in Scotland got a lemon, they made one of the most exclusive whiskies in the world instead.

The "lemon" Littlemill got was a devastating fire that destroyed the distillery, which was said to be the oldest in Scotland. But from the ashes came 10 perfect barrels of 25-year-old scotch, which were blended, bottled and put on sale for $3,000 a pop. Only 250 bottles of magical elixir were made available in the U.S. by Loch Lomond Distillery, an independent Scottish distiller.

Hi, I'm Dan and I am one of the few lucky bastards who will ever taste it. If you hate me right now, I don't blame you in the slightest. Learn the history of the whisky and see what happens when I take a sip in the video above. (Note: I can tell you that I am a terrible actor. Those tears of joy are entirely real.)

As they say in Scotland, slàinte!
