We all have dreams and goals we want to accomplish. But if we view them in terms of manageable systems as opposed to larger-than-life monoliths, we usually feel better and get a lot more done.
Here are three reasons why:

1. Happiness. When you're working toward a big milestone, it's common to feel frustrated or overwhelmed. If you start feeling pressured or burdened, focus your energy on the day-to-day instead. Write 10 pages instead of two chapters, or run one mile instead of three.
2. Motivation. After a goal is achieved, you can feel like you don't know where to put your energy next. That leaves in you in danger of falling into a slump. Take away the emphasis on needing immediate results.
3. Expectations. You never know what life will throw at you, so don't worry about things you can't control. Remember that while a goal can set you in a positive direction, it is just one part of a long system of success.
