Pitching investor can be a nerve-wracking exercise. And that's before you add an audience.

Last month at startup accelerator Techstars' New York City office, seven brave founders or founder teams got up in front of a 50-plus member audience and a panel of judges to pitch their companies.

The judges were Jay Levy, co-founder of Zelkova Ventures; KJ Singh, director of Techstars NYC; Jason Saltzman, co-founder of the co-working space AlleyNYC; and Ray Hennessey, Entrepreneur's editorial director. After each presentation, the panel was given the opportunity to ask two or three questions.

The above video shows the event in its entirety. For anyone looking to pitch investors, participate in a pitch competition or just brush up on their public speaking skills, it's a good resource. You'll see the techniques that worked, the ones that fell flat and get a sense of the necessary ingredients for a successful pitch. Enjoy!
