Wix Is Challenging Agencies to an SEO Battle for $25K

Wix recently launched a series of advanced SEO tools for professionals. Amongst the SEO community there's been lots of opinions about Wix SEO—some love it, some hate. But with Wix's mission to create the most SEO-friendly website builder on the web, having SEO tools for a professional user base is a must. That's why Wix spent the last year consulting with SEO experts to bridge the gaps. Now, they want agencies to put their new capabilities to the test with a six-month SEO battle. The prize? $25K.

Two SEO agencies will be selected for battle and judged by SEO keynote speaker, social media marketing expert and author, Lukasz Zelezny. Once the two teams are chosen, the "Lovers" will create a Wix website and use Wix's advanced SEO tools to try and rank higher on Google. The "Haters" will create a non-Wix website and use their own SEO tools. After six months, the team that ranks higher on Google for the query "Wix SEO" will win $25K and the losing team will get $10K. The battle will start on June 26th, 2019 and end on December 19, 2019 at 12:00pm ET.

The two selected agencies will be chosen based on the following criteria:

• Google ranking

• Years of experience

• Online presence

• Online reviews

• Technical skill set

• Quality of content

• Number of clients

Once the contest officially starts on June 26, 2019, Wix will publish weekly updates on the main Battle website for those interested in staying up to date.

So, how has Wix been preparing for this battle? They've spent the past year consulting with SEO experts to create an arsenal of advanced SEO tools that professionals need. These tools include custom meta tags, canonical URLs, structured data, 301 redirects, custom Open Graph (OG) tags for social sharing and custom event tracking. Wix users can also take advantage of third-party marketing integrations like Google Analytics, Google Ads and Facebook Pixel, all of which can help business owners and professionals generate more traffic, convert leads and analyze site data.
