A renewable energy laboratory, learning infrastructure built around solar panels, and sustainability-focused research projects are among the ways BTU has connected green development with education and hands-on experience over the past 10 years.
The University's Renewable Energy Sources Laboratory provides a space for studying energy efficiency, energy security and green technologies. Students work with real models and technological systems, gaining a practical understanding of how renewable energy solutions are used in real-world settings.
This work is complemented by the BTU Sustainability Lab, which brings together educational modules, research and practical activities for students and businesses. Its aim is to integrate sustainable approaches both into education and into the way organisations operate.
Through the Erasmus+ CBHE 3E-Partnership project, BTU is developing new academic programmes and infrastructure in this field. Solar panels installed at the University allow students to study energy efficiency in a real-world environment and carry out research projects using the infrastructure.
BTU also participates in projects supported by the European Union and other international partners that focus on digital and green transformation, the development of modern skills, and stronger cooperation between academia and the private sector.
The University's work has also received international recognition. BTU received the UN Global Compact Corporate Sustainability Award in the Quality Education category for Women Mentorship in Tech Programmes, a project implemented with the support of the European Union.
Over the past decade, BTU has connected sustainable development with education, research, technological infrastructure and international cooperation, giving students practical opportunities to work on green innovation and explore sustainable solutions.
