BTU on the Global Education Map - 10 Years of International Recognition and Achievement

Founded in 2016, Business and Technology University is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an expanding international network, participation in global projects and a growing record of international recognition.
Over the past decade, BTU's international cooperation has grown from individual partnerships into a global network of academic collaboration. Partnerships with more than 100 universities around the world have opened up exchange programmes, international mobility and joint teaching opportunities for students and professors.
During this period, nearly 500 students and around 220 professors participated in 110 exchange programmes. Seven double-degree programmes were developed with European partner universities, while BTU welcomed more than 400 international students and lecturers. The University also became a member of 12 leading international associations, strengthening its presence in the global higher education community.
One of the major milestones in BTU's international development was the start of its cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The BTU Entrepreneurship Center became the first member organisation of the MIT Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship in the region. Through this cooperation, MIT experts have contributed to BTU's educational and entrepreneurship programmes, workshops and acceleration initiatives.
Over the past ten years, BTU has implemented around 170 international projects. Through these initiatives, more than 10,000 people across Georgia have gained access to fully funded education and professional development opportunities. The projects have been supported by the European Union, United Nations agencies, USAID, DAAD, the U.S. Embassy and other international partners.
BTU's work has also earned a number of international awards and recognitions.
A member of BTU's academic staff received the PROFFORMANCE International Higher Education Teacher Award, an international recognition of excellence in higher education teaching. BTU's work on women's empowerment in technology has also received international recognition, including the Grace Hopper Program Award.
BTU's work in artificial intelligence has gained global recognition as well. Its international AI4Globe initiative was recognised by UNESCO as an influential initiative of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development. The project focuses on developing AI literacy among children, young people, women, small and medium-sized businesses and the academic community, bringing together international partners and educational resources.
Cooperation with CERN has marked another important step in BTU's international scientific development. The University joined the ATLAS Experiment as a Technical Associate Institute, reflecting international recognition of its technological and research capabilities.
Over the decade, BTU has expanded its cooperation with universities and research organisations across Europe, the United States and Asia. Nearly 200 papers by BTU researchers have been published in journals indexed in international scientific databases. The University has also funded research projects and developed regional platforms for sharing knowledge and experience.
As it enters its second decade, BTU continues to expand its international partnerships, participate in global scientific projects and strengthen the international visibility of Georgia's educational and technological potential.
