The Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili will present its first festival at the amphitheatre of Tsinandali Estate on May 22, 23 and 24, with a different concert programme each day.
Specially curated for the festival, the programme will feature standout choreographic works from the ensemble's 80-year repertoire, reflecting different periods and artistic stages of Sukhishvili. The three-day festival brings together tradition and modern expression, taking guests on a journey through time and offering a truly memorable experience.
Organised by Silk Hospitality with the support of general sponsor SOLO, the festival will open with a programme dedicated to classical repertoire. The second day will begin with Zekari, a piece that introduced a new choreographic language in 2000 and marked a turning point for the ensemble. Moving between past and present, Zekari connects different eras and highlights the emotional depth of Georgian folklore. The final day will be dedicated to Karabsha, a contemporary production that draws on Georgian folk traditions through its unique movement style, plasticity and performance aesthetics.

"I am very pleased to share that a project of special importance for me and for every Georgian is beginning at the estate of Alexander Chavchavadze. The Sukhishvili and Ramishvili Festival will take place for the first time this year as part of our new initiative, 'Vardobistve', and we want it to become an annual tradition. It will be a truly remarkable cultural event, and I warmly invite everyone to attend," said George Ramishvili, founder of Silk Road Group.
As part of the festival, concerts by the younger generation of the ensemble will also take place on May 23 and 24.
"Special thanks to Tsinandali Estate for hosting a project of this scale. This is a very important festival, and I hope it will grow into an annual tradition, expanding from three days to five or even seven, with additional programmes and a more diverse schedule. The festival will also include an exhibition bringing together costumes, photographs and archival material from the ensemble's 80-year history, offering a full picture of our creative journey. I am delighted that audiences will enjoy three exceptional days at the end of May, experiencing both Georgian dance and this unique exhibition," said Nino Sukhishvili, General Director and Costume Designer of the ensemble.
Music, dance, costume design, choreography and generations of performers together define Sukhishvili. This unique blend of heritage and modern interpretation continues to captivate audiences. Tsinandali Estate has been chosen as the main venue for the festival, a place where deep cultural traditions continue to thrive.
"Sukhishvili Georgian National Ballet is a jewel of human culture. It uniquely combines traditional Georgian dance with theatrical choreography, creating something far greater than performance - it embodies the energy and traditions of Georgian culture. Dance needs no translation. It brings joy. And undoubtedly, the Sukhishvili Ballet leaves every spectator happier than before. I hope this event evolves into a 10-day Sukhishvili Ballet Festival, much like the renowned Tsinandali Festival of Classical Music." - Yerkin Tatishev, Board Member, Silk Road Group.

Bank of Georgia is the main sponsor of the Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili, while SOLO is the general supporter of the festival.
