Across the Caucasus and Central Asia, one of the most pressing challenges facing the livestock sector is not only access to resources, but access to knowledge. For many farmers, particularly small and medium-sized producers, limited exposure to modern livestock management, advanced nutrition strategies, and efficient farm technologies continue to affect productivity, product quality, and long-term competitiveness.

Against this backdrop, Nutrimax, together with its strategic partner Trouw Nutrition, is working to position Georgia as a regional center for livestock expertise - a platform where international best practices, scientific knowledge, and practical farming experience can be shared across borders.

This partnership brings together two companies with complementary strengths. Nutrimax, a Georgian company with 17 years of experience in farm animal feed, companion animal food, and fish feed, has developed a deep understanding of the local and regional agricultural landscape. Trouw Nutrition, one of the leading Dutch companies in animal nutrition, contributes more than a century of global expertise in animal feed and feed additives. Operating in more than 20 countries and supported by an extensive international research network, Trouw Nutrition brings science-based innovation and proven livestock solutions to the partnership.

Together, the two companies are addressing a challenge of global significance: improving access to protein for a growing population. Meeting this demand requires more than simply increasing production volumes. It calls for greater efficiency, higher quality standards, responsible resource management, and the adoption of modern livestock practices. By transferring knowledge and introducing international experience to regional farmers, Nutrimax and Trouw Nutrition are helping to build a more productive and sustainable agricultural sector.

A key example of this effort was the international agro seminar "Feeding the Future – Innovations in Livestock Farming," held in Tbilisi on April 21–22. Organized by Nutrimax and Trouw Nutrition, the event brought together nearly 130 participants from eight countries: Georgia, the Netherlands, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.

The seminar gathered a broad range of stakeholders, including farmers, academic representatives, business experts, distributors, agricultural associations, and senior guests from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. This diverse participation reflected the growing importance of cross-border cooperation in strengthening the region's agricultural capacity.

The two-day program focused on modern cattle farming, innovative livestock management, feed safety, digital technologies in agriculture, and practical farming experiences from Georgia, Uzbekistan, and Armenia. Sessions were led by both international and local experts, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on industry insight.

For farmers, the value of such initiatives goes far beyond a single training event. Access to practical knowledge can directly influence farm performance, improve production consistency, and support better decision-making. For the wider agricultural sector, these initiatives contribute to systemic development by raising professional standards, encouraging innovation, and creating stronger links between farmers, businesses, researchers, and institutions.

The event also served an important business function. By bringing together participants from different countries, markets, and professional backgrounds, "Feeding the Future" created a platform for new relationships, trust-building, and long-term commercial partnerships. In a region where agricultural growth increasingly depends on cooperation and knowledge exchange, such platforms are essential.

Through this initiative, Nutrimax and Trouw Nutrition reinforced Georgia's potential to become a regional hub for livestock knowledge and innovation. More importantly, they demonstrated how strategic partnerships between local expertise and international experience can support farmers, strengthen the agricultural value chain, and contribute to the broader challenge of sustainable food production.

"Feeding the Future" was not only a seminar; it was a statement of direction — one that reflects Nutrimax's progressive vision, its commitment to regional development, and the value of its long-term partnership with Trouw Nutrition.
