Want to Seem Innovative? Use a .nyc Domain (Infographic) A new survey finds that companies with a .NYC domain are seen as more innovative.

This week, New York City welcomed a special .nyc domain extension, one of a number of new options recently approved by the non-profit that manages domains, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. The new extensions include ones, like .nyc, that can more tightly link them to certain geographic areas.

Curious to see how New York City consumers would respond to the new .nyc domain extension, 1&1 Internet commissioned independent research to understand how New York residents perceive NYC businesses and what they would expect from those with a .nyc domain name.

The survey had some interesting findings. For instance, 60 percent of those polled felt a business with a .nyc extension would be more trendy and in touch. Another 70 percent felt that the new extension would better help them find and frequent local businesses. For these and other findings from the survey, check out this fun infographic.
