Saint Peter's College main campus comprises nearly 25 acres in the heart of Jersey City, the second largest city in New Jersey. The College is 12 minutes by train from New York City and seconds from "The Gold Coast," the rejuvenated Jersey City waterfront district that is home to some of the nationÃ's most respected financial, insurance and real estate companies including Goldman, Sachs and Co., American Express, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, and Deutsche Bank. The College has a branch campus for adults in Englewood Cliffs; courses are also offered at various corporate sites and at a location right within the Jersey City waterfront.
The total enrollment at Saint Peter's College in fall 2009 was 3,115 undergraduate and graduate students. This figure includes 2,300 full-time, day session undergraduate students at the Jersey City Campus. In 1993, the College opened a new, traditional-style dormitory, Whelan Hall; in 1994 , Saint Peter Hall, a former Jesuit residence, was opened as a new residence for students. In 2001, another student residence, Millennium Hall, was opened. Currently, a total of 1100 students, about 50 percent of the full-time day session undergraduates, reside on campus. Saint Peter's College students, born in at least 60 different countries, reflect the increasing diversity of our nation. Excluding international students, approximately 29.1 percent of Jersey City day session full-time undergraduate students identify themselves as Hispanic; 23.4 percent as African American; and 10 percent as Asian. Saint Peter's College students come from at least 25 states. New Jersey is home to 80 percent of Jersey City day session full-time undergraduates; while 16 percent come from other states and 4 percent from foreign countries.
School Says - Student Body
Academic life at Saint Peter's College is enriched by many programs and services that complement classroom instruction. The Counseling Center assists students with their social, psychological, and academic adjustment to college. At the Career Development Center, students can receive assistance in career planning and help in the search for meaningful jobs. The Cooperative Education Program gives participants a chance to earn money and college credit for practical work experience. Students can also take advantage of a center for information and assistance in applying for admission to graduate, law, or medical schools. The Campus Ministry Office offers religious services, seminars, and counseling. Students can also make use of the Office of Community Service and Service Learning. The Office of Campus Activities sponsors annual events on campus featuring popular entertainment, guest lecturers, and social events, both on and off campus. New York City, just a short distance away, offers countless cultural opportunities.
Each year over 1,000 men and women participate in an extensive intramural program. On the varsity level, Saint Peter's competes in basketball, baseball, bowling, cross-country, golf, swimming, soccer, softball, track, and volleyball. Saint Peter's is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
School Says - Academics
Saint Peter's academic programs are designed to offer students a wide breadth of knowledge along with providing the skills necessary to be successful in their chosen field. The College's academic departments offer more than 50 major programs, an Honors Program, individualized majors, and opportunities to earn credit for internships, service learning and other off-campus learning experiences
Undergraduate day courses are offered on a semester calendar, evening and Saturday courses on a trimester basis. Day and evening summer sessions are available on both campuses. A four-year honors program provides academically talented students an opportunity to do extensive scholarly research and participate in small seminars that emphasize class discussion. Selected students are invited to join this program and, upon successful completion, are awarded degrees in cursu honorum. The College recognizes the Advanced Placement (AP) program and generally offers credit for scores of 3 or better.
All students complete a core curriculum requirement consisting of at least 60 credits, distributed as follows: 3 credits each of composition and fine arts; 6 credits each of literature, a modern language, history, social sciences, philosophy, and theology; 6 to 8 credits of mathematics; 9 credits of natural science; and a 3 credit values course. The remainder of the academic program is devoted to the major field of specialization. Students must earn 120 credits to graduate.
Students may pursue a double major by completing requirements for two separate majors or may design a composite major in consultation with the appropriate academic dean. Minors are available in 29 areas of concentration.

Saint Peter's College requires students to have the following academic units:
four years of English
three years of college prep math
two years of history
two years of a foreign language
two years of science, with at least on year of lab science
at least three additional units in any combination of the subject areas listed above.
To satisfy admissions requirements, the complete admissions file must include:
a completed application
an official high school transcript
official ACT or SAT scores
two letters of recommendation
personal statement/essay
R Notification of the admission decision is made on a rolling basis once the admission file is complete. Students are awarded an academic scholarship based on the academic index comprised of GPA and SAT scores. Scholarships range from $5,000 to full tuition, room and fees.
School Says - Campus Life
The main campus of Saint Peter's College, the Jersey City campus, is divided by Kennedy Boulevard in the heart of Jersey City. Jaroschak Field, for athletic and recreational activities, is located about a mile away. Much of the College's personality comes from its location in Jersey City, where, for nearly 125 years, some of the best teachers in the nation have educated the children of long-established families along with those of recent arrivals. Within the past decade, Jersey City, located directly across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan, has developed its waterfront area into an impressive hub for business and finance.
In 1975, Saint Peter's established a branch campus at Englewood Cliffs in Bergen County. The campus, located on the Palisades about 15 miles up the Hudson River from Jersey City, enrolls primarily working adults from nearby corporate parks and medical centers who are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees through evening and weekend study.
School Says - Cost Aid
Undergraduate tuition for the 2009-2010 school year is a flat rate of $26,825 for 12-18 credits per semester. Annual tuition and fees are $27,500. Annual room and board is $10,900. Annual tuition for graduate students is $19,848 (24 credits at $827 per credit).97% of full-time undergraduates receive financial assistance from Saint Peter's, with an average total package of more than $20,000. Saint Peter's College admits students regardless of financial status. The only form required is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is recommended that students file the FAFSA by March 15 for fullest consideration of all federal, state (including EOF), and institutional sources available. All applications for admission are reviewed for academic scholarships, athletic scholarships, and need-based grants.
