About Saladworks

John Scardapane came up with the idea for Saladworks in 1986 while working in a country club as a chef. When he pitched the concept to a mall in New Jersey, though, they were skeptical about the idea of a salad-only restaurant, but Saladworks outsold the mall's other quick-service restaurants in its first year. The franchise's menu features signature salad recipes along with a create-your-own-salad option, as well as soups and sandwiches.
