Passion and Community: The Keys to Success for This Doggy Franchise At Camp Bow Wow, an entrepreneur mindset is a must.

Founded in 2000 and franchising since 2003, the team behind Colorado-based Camp Bow Wow know that success for their franchisees means more than just pursuing a business opportunity.

"You can't fake passion to your customers, you cannot fake it that you care about dogs to your staff," says Trevor Robinson, Camp Bow Wow's director of franchise sales. Passion for pets is just one of keys to a successful franchisee he says.

In contrast to kennels, Camp Bow Wow locations offer day care services for dogs as well as overnight boarding, with live webcams that allow pet owners to check in on their dogs from anywhere. Many locations offer additional services such as grooming, training, and in-home pet care.

The initial investment to own a Camp Bow Wow franchise starts at $783,500. There's also a $200,000 liquid cash requirement and a $50,000 initial franchise fee. Through third-party relationships, Camp Bow Wow offers financing to help cover the franchise fee, startup costs, equipment, inventory, and payroll.

Camp Bow Wow has been ranked by Entrepreneur as the No. 1 franchise in the Pet Services category the last four years in a row.

The other keys to success at Camp Bow Wow, according to Robinson? They include a commitment to your local community and harnessing an entrepreneurial mindset. Watch the short video above to learn more. Also, be sure to visit campbowow.com/franchising.
