Werner Schlossmacher

Barclays today announced the appointment of Werner Schlossmacher as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Barclays Private Bank Asia. Based in Singapore, he will report to Leo Müller, COO of Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management.

Schlossmacher brings more than 30 years of wealth management experience across Singapore, Hong Kong and Switzerland. He joins Barclays from UBS, where he led major digital transformation initiatives within the wealth management business, including the redesign of mobile and e-banking platforms and the introduction of generative AI capabilities to enhance client and advisor experience.

Prior to his tenure at UBS, Schlossmacher spent over two decades at Credit Suisse in senior leadership roles spanning digital platforms, front-office applications, and APAC wealth management.

In his new role, Schlossmacher will oversee operations for Barclays Private Bank in Asia, supporting the continued growth and scalability of the business in the region. He will play a key role in advancing digital innovation, strengthening operational infrastructure, and preparing for the launch of Barclays' new booking center in Singapore.

"Werner is an exceptional operator with deep experience across Asia and Europe. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to scale our business in Asia and prepare for the launch of our booking center in Singapore," said Leo Müller, COO of Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management. "His track record in digital transformation and platform design positions him perfectly to help us deliver a more modern, intuitive and scalable operating environment for clients and advisors."

This appointment underscores Barclays' commitment to investing in its Asian private banking franchise and enhancing its digital and operational capabilities to better serve ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth clients across the region.
