Citi today announced a series of leadership appointments within its corporate banking business, reinforcing its global banking franchise and strengthening senior leadership across regions.
Jason Rekate has been appointed Global Chair of Corporate Banking, and John Chirico has been named Global Chair of Investment Banking. Both will report to Viswas Raghavan, Citi's Head of Banking and Executive Vice Chair.
In addition, Marcelo Marangon and Kaleem Rizvi have been appointed Co-Heads of Corporate Banking. They will also join Citi's Banking Executive Team and Banking Operating Team, reporting to Raghavan.
Marangon, currently Citi's Chief Country Officer for Brazil, will relocate to New York and assume day-to-day oversight of corporate banking activities across the Americas.
Rizvi will transition from his current role as Head of Corporate Banking for JANA (Japan, Asia North, Australia) and relocate from Hong Kong to London. In his new position, he will oversee corporate banking operations across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia.
"These appointments reflect our continued focus on strengthening leadership across our global banking platform and delivering for our corporate clients worldwide," Raghavan said.
Citi will initiate searches to fill Marangon's and Rizvi's previous roles in due course.
