The private markets division of Schroders Capital has appointed Sabrina Meng as head of business development for Asia, effective March 2.
Based in Hong Kong, Meng will report to Ingo Heinen, global head of business development at Schroders Capital, and will join the Asia Client Group Executive Committee.
Meng will oversee business development and sales across Asia. Her responsibilities include leading the regional specialist sales team and managing client relationships. She will also lead fundraising in Asia for the firm's Private Debt and Credit Alternatives (PDCA) business, which manages $41.6 billion in assets. The platform invests in securitized and asset-based finance, real estate debt, infrastructure debt and insurance-linked securities.
Meng has 17 years of experience in consulting, investment and fundraising across private markets. She joins from Oaktree Capital Management, where she worked for eight years, overseeing fundraising across Greater China and Southeast Asia and developing the intermediary business. She previously held roles at Monument Group, Emerald Hill Capital Partners and Bain & Company.
Heinen said Asia remains a strategic region for the firm and that Meng's appointment will support its growth plans in the region.
