In this video, Entrepreneur Network partner Brittney Castro explains how you can prevent fraud and tighten your security when shopping online and in a store.

Convenience is everything in this fast-paced world, which is why so many consumers turn to online shopping rather than make their way to a brick-and-mortar location. Castro recommends always shopping at well-respected and trusted online retailers whose website URLs begin with HTTP or HTTPS and to avoid making online purchases through public Wi-Fi. Having strong passwords is also an obvious precaution -- but you'd be surprised how many people don't!

When you're shopping in a store, again, stick to those trusted retailers. And if you're paying with a card, insert your card's chip rather than swiping it.
