Internet of Things (IoT) is the process of internetworking physical devices, machines, buildings and vehicles using network connections, software, sensors and electronic devices.

While Indian companies and startups have plunged at the opportunity that exists in inter-connecting objects in domains such as agriculture, manufacturing, real estate, transportation and medicine, we still have a long way to go!

According to a report compiled by 6Wresearch, the Indian IoT market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 28.2 percent during 2016-22. As per the report, the growth of the overall market, smart cities project is expected to play vital role.

Industrial big wigs and small and medium enterprises are constantly on the lookout for technology solutions in the IoT space which can help in reducing costs and improving time efficiency. Marquee investors have also showed their inclination towards IoT-based products, but having said that funds have also emphasized on the quality of products in which they want to place their bets on.

To propel the entrepreneurial spirit and understand product amalgamation, the Intel IFDIC campaign will have Tata Consultancy Services veteran Hasit Kaji will host Facebook Live Cast for budding entrepreneurs in this space.

Having chaired several important posts at TCS, Hasit most recently conceptualized and leads Digital Impact Square - an open social innovation center for enhancing lives of citizens using digital technologies.

The center encourages bottom-up innovation, provides platform for students and early start-ups to re-design people's lives and humanize technology for social impact. Prior to his current role, Hasit has led number of transformational initiatives within Tata Consultancy Services , held P&L responsibility for Energy, Resource and Utilities business unit, led Global SAP Practice and TCS business in New Jersey.

Hasit graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, and has completed management and leadership development programs with Ross Business School, IIM at Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Hasit will share his views on markets and technology aspects of this domain and also talk on -

Challenge 2.0 will aim to drive grassroots innovation based on Intel® architecture in order to harness local talent and build solutions that address problems faced by Indian citizens. The program will focus on harnessing solutions that provide horizontal digital transformation and are aligned to IoT platform and / or the Datacenter / Cloud platform, cutting across various verticals like agritech, fintech, healthcare and more.

The Intel & DST - Innovate for Digital India Challenge 2.0 aims to foster local innovation and encourage the creation of intuitive, easy to use and scalable solutions in the IoT and / or Datacenter / Cloud space that enable digital transformation experiences and drive access to services imperative for building a Digital India.
