Hyderabad-based defence technology startup Constelli has raised USD 20 million (around INR 180 crore) in a new funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from 360 One Asset Management and existing investor Pravega Ventures.

The company had previously secured USD 3 million in a pre-Series A round in January last year, led by Pravega Ventures.

The fresh capital will be used to accelerate product research and development focused on next-generation electronic warfare and communication payloads. These systems are designed for multiple platforms, including drones, ground systems, naval vessels and satellites.

Founded in 2017 by Satya Gopal Panigrahi and Avinash Chenreddy, Constelli develops advanced signal processing solutions and engineering tools that support the design, development and testing of critical aerospace and defence systems.

The firm uses modern hardware and software technologies, along with modelling, simulation and distributed computing to enhance technical capabilities and shorten development timelines.

Constelli's products are used by organisations globally that are building radar and electronic warfare systems. In India, it works with the Ministry of Defence and the Defence Research and Development Organisation, along with defence contractors in South Korea, Australia and Singapore.

The company plans to set up infrastructure for rapid prototyping and early-stage production to speed up deployment of field-ready systems.

The fundraise comes as India increases defence spending, with the Union Budget allocating INR 7.84 lakh crore to the defence ministry for 2026–27, compared to INR 6.81 lakh crore in the current financial year.

Other players in the sector include NewSpace Research & Technologies, ideaForge and Garuda Aerospace.
