Healthtech startup CURAPOD has raised INR 20 crore (around USD 2.2 million) in a pre-Series A funding round led by V3 Ventures, 3i Partners, and Ideaspring Capital.
The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate research and development, improve its wearable device and companion mobile app, and scale up manufacturing.
CURAPOD also aims to strengthen its go-to-market strategy by expanding its D2C channels and building partnerships with gyms, physiotherapy centres, and sports medicine networks. Part of the funding will be directed towards improving operational efficiency as the company scales.
Founded in 2022 by Sri Velliyur and Surya Maguluri, CURAPOD develops wearable, non-invasive pain management devices focused on musculoskeletal conditions. Its flagship device uses photobiomodulation therapy and is designed to help manage back pain, neck pain, knee pain, joint disorders, muscle stiffness, and sports-related injuries.
The device is FDA-registered and supports treatment for over 30 musculoskeletal conditions, offering a drug-free alternative to conventional pain management approaches.
The startup follows a clinician-led adoption model and has been expanding its presence across India. CURAPOD's devices are fully engineered and manufactured domestically and are based on medical-grade light therapy technology validated through multicentre clinical trials.
Beyond its current product, the startup is working on a broader portfolio of light-therapy-based solutions aimed at pain management and related therapeutic areas, while continuing to invest in clinical research and long-term global expansion.
