The year 2017 started on a sad note for the Bollywood industry. Veteran actor Om Puri passed away on Friday morning, due to a severe cardiac arrest. The 66-year-old was known for his acting skills not just in hindi movies but also on numerous Tv shows like Jasoos Vijay, Bharat Ek Khoj, Tamas and Kakaji Kahin.
Born in Ambala, Haryana, the actor attended Film and Television institute Of India and National School of Drama to achieve the acting education. As the industry mourns the loss of the actor, his words live on. Given below are five of his most memorable lines:
I have no regrets at all. I have done quite well for myself. I didn't have a conventional face, but I have done well, and I am proud of it.
Puri, who was a part of numerous Bollywood films in the past, praised the industry for giving a bigger exposure to him. His groundbreaking contribution to the Hindi Cinema and Hollywood got him OBE award as well as the Indian national award Padma Shri.
I am grateful to theatre for making me what I am today. But it's not like theatre is my first love. I am equally attached to cinema, which is, actually, a child of theatre, since it borrows heavily from it.
