Intrinsic Foundries Raises INR 12 Cr Funding Led by Transition VC
Intrinsic Foundries, a carbon-to-value biomanufacturing platform, has raised INR 12 crore (about USD 1.4 million) in a seed funding round led by Transition VC.
The funds will support industrial pilots, research expansion, intellectual property filings, and the scaling of engineering and commercial teams. It also plans to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and establish a US entity to support global market development.
Founded in 2023 by Shreyansh Jain, Sanjay Jain, and Umang Jain, the Hazaribagh-based startup converts industrial emissions, effluents, and residues into premium biochemicals using microbial biorefinery systems and modular photobioreactors. Its technology enables decarbonisation while producing sustainable ingredients for food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, agricultural, and advanced materials sectors.
The startup's platform uses proprietary photobioreactor cultivation systems with integrated Factory 4.0 automation. Its initial focus is microalgae-based biorefining for industrial carbon emissions, alongside development of yeast-based microbial systems.
Intrinsic Foundries said it completed a proof of concept at a thermal power plant last year and is advancing partnerships across cement, steel, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and food industries. Over the next two years, it plans multiple pilots and its first one-ton-per-day commercial plant.
LocalHost Secures USD 2.5 Mn to Expand Global Founder Labs
LocalHost, a launchpad for startups, has raised USD 2.5 million in an angel funding round from InVideo, RedBull India, Anthropic, and Eros International to expand its global founder labs and support early-stage ventures.
The fresh funds will be used to improve infrastructure, strengthen hardware capabilities, scale operational teams across regions, and support additional founder cohorts worldwide.
Co-founded in 2023 by Kei Hayashi, Suhas Sumukh, and Hardeep Gambhir, the organisation runs in-person labs for young technical and creative founders working at the intersection of media, software, and hardware.
In India, it operates a 50-day founder lab in Bengaluru, selecting 15 founders per cohort to build projects ranging from AI agents and robotics to India-focused language models and media tools.
Beyond India, labs operate in Tokyo and Cluj-Napoca, with expansion underway in San Francisco and hardware-focused labs planned in Japan and France.
Since launching its India lab, cohorts have included more than 30 venture partners. Startups emerging from the programme include Maya Research, Prava Payments, Dawn Labs, Whisperwave, Markov, and Flashmates. These initiatives aim to reduce execution barriers and encourage collaboration among founders building globally relevant products while strengthening cross-border innovation and partnerships.
