Pre-construction AI platform MeltPlan has raised USD 10 million in a seed funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from noa. The new capital brings the company's total funding to USD 14 million.

The company said the funds will be used to build a "planning engine" for the construction industry and accelerate product development across decision systems related to building codes, costs, schedules, and value.

Founded in 2025 by Kanav Hasija and Tanmaya Kala, MeltPlan is developing a construction-native AI system designed to understand building codes, materials, sequencing, procurement, and construction methods. The system has reportedly scored 95% or higher on building inspector exams, and the company is expanding its knowledge across multiple construction trades and disciplines.

MeltPlan's platform includes tools such as Melt Code for AI-driven building code research, Melt Takeoff for automated quantity takeoffs, and bid leveling capabilities aimed at improving decision-making before construction begins.

The company is positioning its planning engine as a missing layer in construction technology. While design software focuses on aesthetics and functionality, and construction management tools focus on execution, MeltPlan aims to optimise early-stage decisions before project scope is finalized and procurement begins.

According to the company, the planning engine will integrate four systems: a code system providing compliance pathways, a cost system, a schedule system, and a value system offering impact analysis and optimization insights.

MeltPlan said its goal is to make construction planning more rigorous by identifying constraints early, aligning stakeholders, and reducing rework and late-stage changes.

The platform is currently being used in collaboration with enterprise contractors including DPR Construction and Innovo Group.
