NxtGen AI has announced the deployment of a national-scale sovereign AI factory in India, supported by Vertiv data centre infrastructure and accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.

As part of the deployment, the company is implementing more than 4,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs through Dell Technologies integrated rack scalable systems and liquid-cooled PowerEdge servers. The infrastructure is designed to handle high-density, high-performance computing workloads at population scale while maintaining operational efficiency.

Vertiv will deliver the full power and thermal infrastructure required to support the AI factory. Its solutions include distribution transformers, switchboards, uninterruptible power supply systems, racks and rack power distribution units. The deployment also integrates advanced liquid-cooling technologies such as coolant distribution units, modular piping infrastructure and high-efficiency heat rejection systems to manage the extreme heat loads generated by AI workloads.

The cooling design uses ambient-temperature water for direct heat removal, improving energy efficiency and enhancing thermal stability for GPUs. In addition, Vertiv is supplying lithium-ion battery-based energy storage systems, which offer longer service life and reduced replacement cycles compared to traditional lead-acid batteries.

A S Rajgopal, MD and CEO of NxtGen AI, said, "Building a national-scale AI factory requires not just accelerated computing, but a resilient and scalable AI infrastructure foundation. Vertiv's experience in deploying high-density AI data centres supports our vision of strengthening India's sovereign AI capabilities."

Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director of Vertiv India, added, "AI factories are redefining how data centres are designed and operated. Vertiv's 360AI approach enables a highly efficient and future-ready infrastructure supporting next-generation compute accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell."

Backed by Vertiv's local manufacturing and service network, along with engineering support from its Pune hub, the deployment is positioned to support India's growing demand for sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure across enterprises, startups and public sector organisations.
