ROHM Co. Ltd. and Suchi Semicon Pvt. Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in India. The collaboration aims to support both domestic demand and global supply chains while building a reliable and scalable production framework.
The partnership combines ROHM's semiconductor device technology and global industry experience with Suchi Semicon's manufacturing operations and local execution capabilities.
Together, the companies plan to establish production processes that meet international quality standards while supporting India's push to expand local manufacturing under the "Make in India" initiative.
As part of the collaboration, ROHM is evaluating outsourcing back-end manufacturing processes for power devices and integrated circuit (IC) products to Suchi Semicon. Technical assessments are underway, with potential mass production shipments targeted to begin in 2026. The initiative is intended to create an early-stage manufacturing framework capable of supporting expected industry growth in the coming years.
Both companies also plan to share a roadmap to expand the range of semiconductor packages produced locally, which would broaden the scope of manufacturing and strengthen supply chain resilience. By increasing local production capabilities, the partnership seeks to provide customers with dependable and regionally sourced semiconductor solutions.
Beyond manufacturing, the alliance will explore new business development opportunities to address rising demand for locally produced semiconductors across sectors. These include automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, and energy applications. The companies also plan to leverage Suchi Semicon's local market expertise to improve customer engagement and outreach.
The partnership is positioned as a long-term collaboration aimed at supporting the sustainable growth of India's semiconductor ecosystem while aligning with evolving global industry requirements.
