Bengaluru-based food delivery brand Swiggy has decided to shut down Snacc, its standalone app for 10–15 minute food delivery, less than a year after its launch, according to an internal email sent to employees.
Launched in January 2025, Snacc aimed to offer quick delivery of snacks, beverages, and ready-to-eat items through centrally stocked hubs. The app was part of Swiggy's experiment in ultra-fast food delivery, operating separately from its main platform. Initially rolled out in Bengaluru, the service later expanded to Gurugram and Noida, but it never saw a nationwide expansion.
The internal email, reviewed by Entrackr, noted that Swiggy's core food delivery business continues to grow strongly, with 20.5% year-on-year growth driven by both higher order volumes and improving average order values (AOVs). The company emphasised its focus on disciplined capital allocation and prioritising scalable initiatives.
Snacc's closure reflects broader trends in the ultra-fast food delivery space. Last year, Zomato paused its 15-minute delivery service Quick after just four months. Zepto Café, Zepto's quick-service food arm, shut nearly 200 of its 600 outlets amid restructuring, while Ola put its Ola Foods delivery service on hold following a relaunch.
Despite these pullbacks, the sector has not completely cooled. Fast-delivery startup Swish is reportedly in talks to raise USD 30–35 million, signaling that investor interest in rapid food delivery remains active.
