The move came in favour of Indian consumers to protect their interest but left the investors, traders and crypto entrepreneurs in a spot. Following the move, the already battered prices of bitcoin dropped further in the international market and the Indian cryptocurrency market had to bear the brunt.

After the RBI crackdown, the Indian crypto users and an Ahmedabad-based cryptocurrency platform filed a petition in the Delhi High Court alleging the violation of Article 19 (1) (g) and 14 of the Indian constitution.
