The first Pinot's Palette (originally called Pinot & Picasso) opened in Houston in 2009. The name change, along with the advent of franchising, came in 2010. Franchises offer in-studio painting classes and private parties, as well as mobile event services. Customers bring their own wine or other beverages and are taught step-by-step to create a painting.
