Sally Edwards and Elizabeth Jansen opened the first Fleet Feet Sports in Sacramento, California, in 1976. In 1993, Tom Raynor purchased the company and moved the headquarters to Carrboro, North Carolina. Fleet Feet stores offer measurement, gait analysis and fitting services to help customers find the right athletic shoes, inserts, socks, sports bras and other athletic apparel.
