Gurugram-based kitchenware startup Cumin Co. has raised USD 5 million in a pre series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from Atrium Angels, Mokobara founders Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, and Tracxn founder Abhishek Goyal.

Existing investors Huddle Ventures and Alteria Capital also participated in the round.

The startup said the fresh capital will be used to advance research and development of its proprietary enamel coating process, build in-house manufacturing capabilities, and expand teams across functions. Part of the funding will also be directed towards educating consumers on health focused cookware and long term safety considerations in everyday cooking.

In August last year, the startup secured USD 1.5 million in funding led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from Huddle Ventures.

Founded in February 2025 by husband and wife duo Udit Lekhi and Niharika Joshi, the startup originated from personal experience. The founders were prompted to explore safer cookware alternatives after becoming concerned that microscopic aluminium particles from conventional utensils could be entering food prepared for their children.

Cumin Co. operates as a direct to consumer brand offering enamel coated cast iron cookware such as Dutch ovens, pans and tawas. Its products are positioned as toxin free and are designed to avoid chemicals commonly associated with non-stick or metal cookware.

The brand sells through its own website, Amazon, and quick commerce platforms including Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart.

The funding comes amid growing activity in the health first cookware space in 2025. Ember Cookware raised nearly USD 3.2 million, while D2C cookware and appliances startup EDT raised USD 1.4 million in a pre seed round.

Competitors in this category include Prestige, Hawkins, Meyer India, Wonderchef and Bergner.
