The Super Bowl isn't the only arena where Washington and Colorado are going head to head. Comparing the states' bustling venture capital scenes reveals an intriguing matchup.

PitchBook has created a side-by-side comparison between Washington and Colorado's venture capital activity, along with hand-picked awards for some VC MVPs. The Broncos have Peyton Manning, while the Colorado VC scene has late stage investments. And, just like the Seahawks' have the young standout quarterback Russell Wilson, Washington is more likely to invest in promising early stage investments.
