Even though leaving a startup might be the furthest thing from an entreprenuer's mind, attorney Nina Kaufman says there are several reasons to have a legal exit strategy -- especially if you have a business partner. Some of these situations include:

  • If you become physically or emotionally unable to perform your duties.
  • If you're partners with a spouse and you get a divorce.
  • If you have a change of heart and want to pursue another opportunity.
