Chefs For Seniors, an in-home personal chef franchise founded in 2013, has launched Chefs For Families, a new sister brand bringing personalized in-home meal preparation to busy families, professionals and households across the United States.

The new concept is launching in more than 60 markets through the company’s existing franchise network, giving participating Chefs For Seniors franchise owners the opportunity to operate two complementary brands within their territories.

Building a second brand on an established franchise model

“We spent more than a decade building the systems, technology and operating model behind Chefs For Seniors,” said Nathan Allman, Co-Founder of Chefs For Seniors. “We kept hearing from younger families asking if they could use our service too. Eventually, we realized we could take what we had already built and apply it to a much larger audience.”

Chefs For Families clients work with local professional chefs who shop for groceries, prepare customized meals in the client’s home, package meals for easy reheating and clean the kitchen before leaving.

Unlike meal kits and prepared meal delivery services, meals are cooked in the client’s kitchen and customized around the household’s tastes, dietary preferences and nutrition goals.

A low-cost food franchise built around recurring clients

Chefs For Seniors began franchising in 2018 and has grown to more than 100 locations nationwide. More than 90% of its clients use the service on a recurring basis, creating a business model centered around weekly and bi-weekly personal chef visits.

The company currently offers three franchise territory options, with franchise fees ranging from $9,500 to $16,500 and estimated minimum initial investments starting at $17,425. Exclusive territories range from approximately 50,000 to 150,000 seniors.

Franchise owners receive access to the company’s 30-day “Fast Track” launch program, dedicated success coaching, digital advertising, a professionally designed website, SEO, field service and CRM software, and a collection of more than 175 dietitian-reviewed entrées.

Professional chef experience is not required. Owners can initially provide services themselves or build a team of chef employees as their business grows.

One business, two consumer markets

The launch of Chefs For Families gives participating franchisees an additional growth channel while leveraging much of the infrastructure already used to operate Chefs For Seniors.

“One of the things that made this opportunity compelling was that we didn’t have to start from scratch,” Allman said. “We’re giving our franchise owners another way to grow while staying focused on what we already do well — providing a highly personalized service in the client’s home.”

Chefs For Families is now available in participating markets, with additional locations expected to launch soon.
