The reported milestone from Merge Screens indicates that owners will show more interest in 2009 to 2026 Ford F-150s with higher connectivity and larger screens.

August 26, 2026 — Merge Screens unveiled today that over a thousand Ford F-150 owners have already transformed their trucks with Merge Screens’ Tesla-inspired infotainment display. The customer milestone, as reported by the company, includes the model years 2009-2026 for its current line of Ford F-150 products.

The milestone reflects consumer demand for up-to-date infotainment features while retaining other vehicle features that meet everyday driving or business requirements. Trucks are often considered working tools for contractors, service providers or other small-business owners, and the convenience of navigation, hands-free communications and smartphone connectivity are all potential factors to consider throughout the day.

Merge Screens offers three compatible display setups for F-150s. The company has revealed its specifications, with the Standard variant having a 12.1-inch screen, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The premium features is 8GB of RAM, and as well as 128GB of storage size and with a 13.2-inch or 14.5-inch monitor, depending on the year of the car you have. Now the mergescreens Elite variant features a 17-inch display, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

All setups feature wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless connectivity comes as an additional feature. Android 13 is used on the screens, and they feature Bluetooth, GPS and various internet connectivity options for compatible navigation, communications and media applications.

Vehicle-specific configuration

The Merge Screens Ford F-150 touchscreen lineup is not based on a universal installation format, but on the truck’s current dashboard and factory systems. The model year, screen configuration and dashboard information is chosen by the customer before the system is ready for shipping.

Merge Screens sets up every order for the customer’s year, trim and factory options installed. The company says it then runs each system for 24 hours on a bench that simulates the customer’s vehicle configuration. Typically, the configuration and testing process takes about three to four days, the company says.

Equipment on F-150s may vary from year to year. As such, the company recommends that customers confirm their factory radio/dashboard layout, cameras, audio system, and other installed options before committing to an order.

Supported retained functions include steering-wheel controls, climate control, factory backup camera, 360-degree camera (if originally installed) and a compatible factory or aftertreatment sound system. The screens work with Ford SYNC 2, SYNC 3 and SYNC 4 systems and for those applications replace SYNC 1. Vehicles with other original features, such as heated or massage-seat controls or ambient lighting, can keep these as well.

Installation Options and Support

The systems are interfaced to the vehicle by a vehicle-specific harness and are designed to be installed without any cutting or splicing of the truck’s factory wiring, which is usually required with other systems. Most owner installations take 60-90 minutes according to Merge Screens. Purchases come with step-by-step instructions, technical support, and an installation video.

For those who want professional help, the company provides a list of 236 certified installers and can help you find one by ZIP code. Merge Screens also installs in supported locations, at home. Availability and pricing depend on location and other factors, and professionals provide them.

There is currently a 90-day return period along with a 1 year hardware warranty and free software updates as per the company’s policy. Starting at $1,199, the Standard configuration, it depends on the display and vehicle setup.

Supporting working-vehicle ownership

The 1,000-upgrade milestone also highlights an overarching ownership decision entrepreneurs must make if they rely on their vehicles: Upgrade a truck or replace the individual systems as business needs evolve.

An infotainment upgrade won’t change a truck’s mechanical condition or capacity. It can, though, upgrade the car with smartphone connectivity, navigation and a bigger display — without the owner having to replace the entire car just to get newer infotainment.

The company’s product page has information about vehicle compatibility, current configurations and purchasing details.
