Phomemo Launches PM643, a 4×6 Touchscreen Thermal Printer That Takes On More of the Packing Workflow
The newly launched 300 DPI PM643 combines AirPrint, a 1080P HD touchscreen, One-Tap Reprint, offline template printing and on-screen drawing, aimed at sellers who move between fulfillment and packaging in the same working day.
Phomemo has introduced the PM643, a 300 DPI touchscreen Wi-Fi thermal label printer with a 4-inch printing width and support for standard 4×6 shipping labels, designed for small businesses and e-commerce sellers whose daily printing needs include more than carrier labels. The device combines high-resolution thermal printing, AirPrint-enabled wireless printing, a 1080P HD touchscreen, One-Tap Reprint, wireless connectivity, a large touchscreen, offline template printing and direct on-screen drawing in a single unit.
Printing needs that extend past the carrier label
Small businesses tend to operate with limited workspace and limited resources, while the range of materials they need to print keeps widening as they grow. A single order can involve a shipping label for the carrier, a price tag for the item, a logo label for the outside of the box, a thank-you card for the inside, and a product sticker somewhere along the way.
Those jobs are usually small, frequently changed, and set up on a phone. The Phomemo PM643 is positioned around that fuller list rather than around fulfillment alone, supporting shipping labels, price tags, logo labels, thank-you cards, product stickers and other customized labels and printed materials.
300 DPI printing across a 4-inch width
The printer uses 300 DPI thermal printing, producing clear and detailed output on both labels and printed graphics. Its 4-inch printing width supports standard 4×6 shipping labels, covering everyday shipping and fulfillment work, while the same resolution keeps smaller text and logo linework legible on tags and stickers.
A 1080P HD touchscreen for direct control
The built-in 1080P HD touchscreen allows key printing functions to be operated directly on the printer. For a seller partway through a stack of orders, that means the workflow stays on the device instead of depending entirely on a computer or smartphone for every action.
One-Tap Reprint adds another shortcut by allowing the previous label to be printed again directly from the printer, which can save time during busy packing and fulfillment sessions. With AirPrint, users on the same Wi-Fi network can print directly from compatible Apple devices without opening a separate app, particularly where packing and fulfillment do not happen at a permanent desk setup.
Templates saved once, printed offline
Commonly used templates can be uploaded and saved through the Phomemo App that Phomemo provides. Once stored, a template is selected and printed straight from the PM643 touchscreen, so frequently used materials can be produced offline without operating a phone for each print.
For example, a price tag printed twenty times a week can be set up once and recalled with a tap, rather than being rebuilt on a phone between each carrier label.
Drawing simple logos on the device
Users can also draw directly on the PM643 touchscreen to create simple designs or basic logos, then print the result from the device. This allows a hand-drawn mark to be added to packaging stickers without additional design software. It is a convenience feature rather than a design tool, and is not intended to replace professional graphic-design software.
One device across a working day
Taken together, the PM643 brings several parts of the daily printing workflow into one device, including:
- High-resolution label printing: 300 DPI printing, a 4-inch printing width and support for standard 4×6 shipping labels.
- DAC Auto Calibration: automatic label detection and alignment to help reduce misprints and unnecessary label waste.
- Direct device control: a 1080P HD touchscreen and One-Tap Reprint for handling common printing tasks from the printer itself.
- AirPrint connectivity: direct printing from compatible Apple devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Reusable and custom content: offline template printing and on-screen drawing for frequently used or customized materials.
A home-based business working through weekend orders could move from a 4×6 carrier label to a price tag to a logo sticker on the Phomemo PM643 without switching devices or setting up a template again.
“The shipping label was never the difficult part,” said Shawn Li, Product Manager at Phomemo. “The friction sits in everything around it — the tag, the sticker, the card — because those jobs are small, frequent and usually mean picking up a phone. Putting saved templates and a drawing surface on the printer itself was about removing that step.”
The PM643 is available now. The saved-template library grows as it fills with the materials each business prints most often.
