Running a business rarely follows a straight line. Most founders begin with an idea or a craft they care about and only later realize they are also running a complex financial operation. The passion for the work usually comes first. The paperwork usually arrives right behind it—many times with at least some confusion.

For creative and mission-driven entrepreneurs, this dual reality is quite demanding. Tasks like tax compliance and bookkeeping can pull attention away from the work that gives a business its identity. Naturally, founders look for tools that make the financial side faster and less stressful so they can stay focused on growth and doing what they love.

TurboTax Experts for Business is a primary resource for small-business owners who are seeking solutions. By providing unlimited, year-round support for small businesses, access to industry-specific tax experts to help advise business owners in those fields, and built-in checks that connect tax preparation with everyday accounting, the platform makes keeping books and managing taxes easier than ever.

For founders Jaymz Nylon of Nylon Recordings and Rizpah Bellard of Nova Farming, TurboTax supports their vision by helping them organize finances and uncover savings with more confidence.

Nylon Recordings: Building culture and business longevity

More than 30 years after launching Nylon Recordings, Jaymz Nylon continues to run a thriving, evolving company. He has used TurboTax for more than two decades, building financial consistency into the foundation of his business and helping sustain its longevity.

Nylon Recordings began during the early days of the New York underground scene. Jaymz Nylon and his partner Steven McMahon created roving parties that helped define the era. Guests received location details through late-night beeper messages, and the music drew from a cultural exchange between New York and London that inspired the name NYLON.

By 1994, Jaymz formalized the business at age 26 and launched Nylon Recordings as a professional imprint. Fast forward three decades later, the company now operates as Nylon Recordings Design Group LLC, a multidisciplinary business covering music, design, and a new dog brand called The Howls. A sister label, Nylon Trax, focuses on singles while the flagship label handles full-length projects.

As the company expanded, Jaymz prioritized understanding his own financial systems. After an early experience working with an accountant, he committed to managing his books with clarity and began using TurboTax to stay directly involved in his tax preparation.

His financial data flows from bank accounts into QuickBooks which integrates directly into TurboTax. This connection eliminates the need for manual re-entry, keeping every record synchronized The seamless integration across financial software reduces manual work and keeps tax season from becoming a distraction.

By maintaining consistent financial organization year after year, Jaymz has been able to reinvest in artists, expand into new ventures, and build additional revenue streams without losing operational control. TurboTax Experts for Business supports that stability by guiding him through deductions, credits, and compliance requirements in one connected system.

Instead of wrestling with filings, Jaymz moves through them with clarity, staying compliant and confident that his tax records are accurate. With the administrative side finding its rhythm, he says he has more mental space to support artists and shape new sounds. As Jaymz puts it, “When my financials are organized, compliant, and efficient, it allows me to stay present where I’m most valuable, creating music, supporting artists, and building culture.”

Nova Farming: Turning purpose into a structured operation

When Rizpah Bellard incorporated Nova Farming in California in 2020, she quickly recognized that strong financial systems would be essential to sustaining her mission. TurboTax Experts for Business became part of that foundation early in her journey as a corporate founder.

Nova Farming began with a phone call. In May 2018, while completing a graduate school internship in Cali, Colombia, Bellard contacted her father with a clear idea: she wanted to recreate the agricultural experiences of her childhood and provide those opportunities to disadvantaged communities with limited access to the industry.

After Bellard graduated in June 2020, the idea became a formal enterprise. She and her father went into business together and incorporated Nova Farming in California, which is now a multifaceted agricultural operation that advises other growers, sell agricultural products, and invest deeply in education. Today, Nova Farming works in K-12 agricultural education, beef production, and the movement of agricultural technology both domestically and internationally.

In her first year as a corporation, Bellard quickly encountered the realities of corporate tax filing, organized recordkeeping, and tracking multiple revenue and expense categories. She turned to TurboTax Experts for Business to guide her through income tax filing and help her structure her financial documentation clearly.

Bellard specifically leverages the software to identify savings on home office expenses, along with vehicle usage and equipment costs. What once felt like a heavy administrative lift now feels manageable for her.

Bellard appreciates how the software is built for small businesses where every dollar saved can be reinvested into education or community initiatives. “TurboTax has taken away the income tax preparation anxiety, or ‘taxiety,’ I feel throughout the year,” she says. She notes that TurboTax experts handle the heavy lifting of tax preparation, so she can feel confident that all her company tax claims are accurate.

With less time spent on paperwork, Bellard focuses fully on educating students and supporting farmers. TurboTax provides the back-end support she needs to invest her energy in the front lines of her business.

Nylon Recordings and Nova Farming started in different environments; one grew out of underground clubs while the other began in fields and classrooms. Both founders built their businesses from a foundation of passion and purpose. TurboTax Experts for Business plays a consistent supporting role for both companies, helping them stay organized and uncovering savings. When the financial side of a business is clear and manageable, founders gain the freedom to keep growing what they started.
