What is a qualified lead in sales? It's someone with the budget to make a purchase, the decision-making power to decide to buy and a need for what you're selling.

Once you've got that established, according to Entrepreneur Network partner Alex Berman, you should follow these three steps to further qualify that lead: Qualify when list-building -- in other words, look for buying signals online before you even contact a person to sell to them.
