He says that there is simply no way to devote precisely equal amounts of time to work, family and other obligations. In this video, Misner says that you should be looking for harmony instead.

Harmony does not entail spending the same amount of time in all areas of life, but rather focuses on making sure all areas are satisfied and devoting time where it's needed. Finding this consistency is possible, but it still takes conscious effort.
