Mcgarrybowen was founded in 2002 by John McCarry, Gordon Bowen and Stewart Owen. Prior to starting the company, McCarry was the President of Young & Rubicam Inc. During the course of his long career with Y&R, John was also Chairman and CEO of Y&R Advertising. Time Magazine once called Gordon Bowen a creator of "emotional blockbusters." He was formerly Chief Creative Officer of McCann Erickson, Executive Creative Director at Young & Rubicam, and Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy and Mather, where he developed the legendary "Membership has its Privileges.
