Google Glass, the wearable computer from the tech juggernaut, has made public transit a part of the experience.

Google announced on Monday a monthly update for Google Glass Explorers that will allow users that have paired Glass with an Android device to see public transit directions on the device.

"When you get directions and select transit, you'll be able to see all sorts of helpful info, like where to change trains, how far you have to walk to the bus stop and how long it should take to reach your final destination," the company said.

Mapping is a competitive space. Last year, Apple introduced a maps app that was heavily panned by critics. At one point, Tim Cook issued an apology for Apple maps for the frustration the product caused its customers. Over the summer, the company reportedly bought the online public transit guide, Hopstop.com.
