Managing multiple online profiles on Blogger, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, MySpace and various other sites can be quite a hassle for users. Or it used to be, before mEgo--the brainchild of Ariel McNichol and Julia Johnston, 35 and 39, respectively--came along. An mEgo is a single, dynamic, portable online profile that integrates all of a user's photos, links, feeds and more. It can be instantly shared on major social networking sites, blogs and IM clients.

After two years in the making and $3 million in funding from angel investors--not to mention help from six developers in Uruguay, two in Romania and seven full-time employees at their Los Angeles headquarters--the pair breathed life into their digital creation last September. "Users can really express who they are, own that, and be able to put it wherever they want," says McNichol. With enhanced capabilities and a mobile application currently underway-as well as projected 2008 sales of $2 million, thanks to sponsorships and advertising-mEgo isn't just alive; it's kicking.
