A new tool from Indiegogo allows you to embed your crowdfunding campaign onto your own website.

That's helpful because if your business or cause has its own traffic draw, users will organically be made aware of your fundraising efforts. The new feature, called "Indiegogo Outpost" means that you can both leverage the analytics and expertise of the Indiegogo platform and keep all web traffic going to your own website.

"Indiegogo is all about breaking down barriers to funding and we're always looking for new ways to help Indiegogo campaigns directly engage with audiences who are likely to support them," said Slava Rubin, Indiegogo co-founder and CEO, in a statement announcing the update.

If you opt to use Indiegogo Outpost to run your campaign on your own website, your campaign will also appear on the Indiegogo home page and will still be part of Indiegogo marketing newsletters and social media.

As crowdfunding has become an increasingly popular way for entrepreneurs to get seed capital to launch a business, San Francisco-based Indiegogo and New York-based Kickstarter compete to be the industry leaders. The new feature from Indiegogo is the platform's most recent move to be the more flexible crowdfunding option.
