Apply to be considered for our 2018 Top Company Cultures list, which will be featured in Entrepreneur magazine and on Entrepreneur.com, the largest entrepreneur community of its kind.
Last day to apply to the list is March 16.
The survey consists of 24 statements, along with a few open-ended questions. It takes about 5-8 minutes

Top results are featured on Entrepreneur.com and in Entrepreneur magazine
Receive a free overview of your results. Called the Survey Snapshot, the report provides a summary of your organization’s health, including highlights of your high-performance culture, your overall score and insights into improvements. Companies that receive the highest Energage score will be featured in the Top Company Cultures list to be published on Entrepreneur.com and in Entrepreneur magazine. You will also have the opportunity to upgrade to receive a deeper dive into your results.
Your company will be recognized in an issue of of Entrepreneur magazine and on Entrepreneur.com. Also, becoming a Top Company Culture company is a great way to attract and retain the best talent. And by receiving candid feedback from your employees you can assess what you are doing right, along with opportunities to improve. Your company can use the Top Company Cultures logo on company materials and websites to help spread the word about your work environment and brag about your amazing culture.
If your company meets the minimum criteria and is accepted, we just need one point of contact, often a human resources employee or whoever manages company culture, to apply and act as an administrator for the survey. A trained account representative from Energage will be assigned to guide you through the process, and will set you up with a login and password to access their secure site where you will be able to carry out the following requirements:

Your company must been founded before Feb. 1, 2016 and have at least 35 employees to participate. Your company must also be headquartered in the United States and founder led, meaning one of the original founders must have at least a 10% stake in the company. If you are a franchise, only count and survey your corporate employees. Nonprofits are excluded from the ranking. Not all participating companies will be included in the ranking. Energage will determine the ranking based on employee responses to the survey.
It is free to participate, regardless of the number of employees. However, if employees require paper surveys, because they do not have a company email address, there is a $1.75 per paper survey to cover the costs of printing, postage and scanning.
Companies also have the opportunity to get a more in-depth look at their survey results by upgrading to a package. This is optional.
Lastly, companies that make the Top Company Cultures list may want to take advantage of advertising opportunities on Entrepreneur.com or in Entrepreneur magazine. This is optional.
We have a new research partner in 2018, Energage. Energage surveys thousands of companies annually and has extensive benchmarking data from their 24 question survey using 35 as the minimum employee count.

The application and setup is straightforward and should take no longer than 10 minutes. The application consists of a few basic questions about your company (industry, size, etc.), and the setup involves registering for the ranking and configuring your employee survey. We will be in touch throughout the process to keep you updated on any remaining steps.
We have surveyed over 13 million employees via email and have never and will never release a single email address to another party or use a survey-taker's email address for any purpose other than inviting the individual to take the workplace survey.
You can cancel your application at any point in the process. Please contact us at TopCompanyCultures@Energage.com to do so. Remember, we will not send the survey to employees until you confirm your survey.
The main point of contact can edit the application from your participant dashboard up until a week before the selected survey start date.
Yes, Energage takes confidentiality extremely seriously. Without confidentiality, this survey would not provide the candid feedback which makes the results so valuable. We only show survey results that are the aggregate of at least 5 employees. For certain results views we require 10 responders (to display the department associated with a comment) and 30 responders (to show a heatmap). Your company’s survey results are not shared with any third party.
The survey is 24 multiple choice questions, along with open-ended questions. It should take between 5-8 minutes to complete.
You will be able to preview the survey before it is sent to employees in your participant dashboard once you submit your application. This is where you will configure the survey to fit your company's needs.
To maintain the ability to compare scores fairly across all participating companies, the 24 questions of the survey cannot be edited or removed. However, you have the opportunity to include custom and demographic questions if you upgrade your company's experience.
We provide access to an online survey. Employees will receive the survey through email. They can complete their survey on a desktop, tablet or mobile device. Each survey has a unique survey code which makes the process more robust as each employee only has access to one survey code and can therefore only complete the survey once.
We respect employee inboxes and privacy. Employees are not required to register for an account of any kind, and we will only send them the survey and reminder emails.
The survey emails come from TopCompanyCultures@Energage.com Please clear this email with your IT department to ensure that survey emails do not get blocked by spam filters.
The survey works on Internet Explorer 9 and above, and the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
A 35 percent response rate is required to be considered for Top Company Cultures designation. For organizations with less than 85 employees, 30 survey responses are required.
We will be accepting applications until March 16. This deadline is just for the initial application process, meaning you still have a few months to have your employees take the actual survey. The survey window closes on May 4.
The Top Company Cultures list will be published this fall on Entrepreneur.com and in Entrepreneur magazine.

The Top Company Cultures list will be determined by employee responses to the Energage Survey. The Energage Survey measures qualities common to a high-performance company.
Companies with the highest overall average scores (in comparison to like-size companies) are named Top Company Cultures. The overall average score includes responses to all statements on the survey and all statements on the survey are weighted equally.
